For the past week, I've been (in my opinion) dressing more like a boy. From boyfriend jeans, to beanies, to boy tees and Vans (people who know me will probably be shocked by this). Maybe it's secretly because my mother has always wanted a boy and me being a girl has been (apparently) a big shock to her and I just want to please her, in some way. But come on, she was going to name me Daffy if I were a boy, I mean....... what.
I've actually been dying for a chance to wear this boyfriend beanie I got from ASOS but the weather has been pretty hot lately. Today though, a chilly 23 with strong winds makes it a perfect time for me to snuggle up a bit. Also being under the weather and having horrible hair today, it gives me the best excuse to wear it. Instead of doing my assignment, I spent the whole of yesterday night altering some large boy (and girl) tees and I didn't realise how disgusting my sewing skills are until I put it on and it is undeniably uneven and all over the place. But nevertheless, I hope you enjoy my boy look today. This outfit makes me want to learn how to skate. Anyone want to be my teacher?
I haven't worn this piece in forever! I remember I bought it off a friend from her vintage wardrobe years ago and at the time I didn't think it was flattering on me but maybe being older changes things. There is one song that comes to mind with this dress- If I Die Young by The Band Perry. Roses are such so beautiful, although cliche, but such a gorgeous plant. I wonder why roses were the type of flowers used to express love- like who, decided to make roses the flower to show someone you love them? Nevertheless, here's to a lazy sunday and a playlist of The Band Perry. Oh and a mango milkshake.

Today I had the pleasure of going to a lovely wedding and I wore this gorgeous maxi dress that surprisingly makes me look tall. I never really went for maxis because I always feel like I'm too petite for a good fit but this dress by Ally (which was such a bargain) has changed my mind. What do you think?
There is always this beautiful vibe from weddings and I can never hold back tears. I think weddings are such a joyous thing, and it somehow brings people together. Really started thinking about my future with Benjamin and whether it'll work out okay. Coming up to 4 years soon, sort of can't imagine myself with anyone else. Nevertheless, here are some photos from today. Enjoy, x.

"All the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust."
I've always loved the story of Peter Pan; all the magic, Tinkerbell, mermaids and pixie dust. Whenever I put on this skirt, I can't help feeling like a pixie fairy. I can never help fluttering and spinning around thinking everything I touch will sparkle and be fixed. I guess I expect a bit too much from life. Uni has officially started and it has been a hectic two weeks. Anyone know a Neverland near by that I can escape to? Or some pixie dust?
Hi there! Would just like to give an extended welcome to my new blog. I have spent the past few hours trying to find a good theme for the time being while I sort out how to work this whole Blogspot deal.
But, let me start of by giving you all a proper introduction about yours truly.
I'm Vivian, but please call me Vi, or Viv even. Whoever calls me "Vivian" always makes me feel sort of intimidated or as if I did something wrong. I think it's the name, it just sounds so...serious. But anyway, as indicated in the 'About Me' section, I'm an excessive carrot eater and cat lover. I own an adorable DSH called Pepper and be sure to remember his name because I probably will talk a lot about him. Don't worry, I'm not crazy, just yet.
Something I always find interesting to break the ice is my phobia. According to Google (actually, Wikipedia) I am Trypophobic (is that even a word?). It's basically a phobia of repetitive patterns. I think I have a severe case of trypophobia because if I just see anything repetitive, I squirm and kind of just do a really bad rave dance move as if there are ants in my pants. Ugh, just thinking about it is making me itchy. But hey, if repetitive dots are you thing, go nuts here. (You guys better click that link because it took so much of me to open it and copy and paste it for you.)
On a happier note, I am currently 19, turning 20 really soon and everyone I know thinks I'm 14. I'm a student living in Sydney, Australia but wish to move to the UK someday. My parents are from Hong Kong and my grandparents are from Shanghai so I can speak Canto, Mando and Shanghai-nese. My boyfriend (of 3 years and 8 months) is Korean so I can speak real basic Korean too. I think I'm pretty cool. Lol,jk.
So a big welcome to you, I hope I haven't scared you away just yet and stay tuned for some outfit posts/nail tutorials/product reviews coming soon!
Hi guys! Mariechino has put a new place in it's name: blogspot! This is definitely all very surreal to me, as I've come from Tumblr and it was all so easy over there! I've decided that 2013 will be all things new for me and I've finally made a decision to create a blogspot. I'm also organising someone to become my photographer on a weekly basis (problems with being an only child) to expand my lookbook and outfits! In the meantime, check out my tumblr and lookbook while I figure out how to work all this stuff out and maybe create a new domain!
MARIECHINO is by a 20 year old cat loving, green tea worshipping, interior and spatial design student in Sydney, Australia. A place for dress ups, illustrations, inspiration and occasional cat and food delights,
I welcome you.
